Rows for length calculator
Patterns often say “work until piece measures 10 in”. If you're adding length, planning stripes, or spacing shaping, it helps to know that as a row count. Enter your row gauge and the length.

How it works
Rows = length × gauge rows ÷ gauge length. At 28 rows per 4 in, 10 in takes 70.00 rows, so 70. If your shaping or stitch pattern needs an even number of rows (or a full repeat), round to that.
Row gauge changes more than stitch gauge when a swatch is washed, and heavy pieces stretch lengthwise when they hang. For garments, measure length on a blocked swatch and check your length as you go.
